8 months of Invite Health
September 21, 2022 to May 10, 2023
Thank You
Today is almost the 8 month birthday of Invite Health. The first newsletter came out on September 21, 2022.
Thank you for reading these newsletters. Whether you read it from your inbox or keep up with the postings on LinkedIn and Twitter, I appreciate all of you.
Thank you for all of your kind messages, and telling me directly how Invite Health has impacted you. I created Invite Health as a learning platform that I wish I had when I was in undergrad, figuring out careers in health sci & healthcare, so I’m glad that this has helped you too.
My ‘why’ for Invite Health has already been written out, and if you’re new here, I would love for you to read about it. Maybe it will resonate with some of you.
What’s Next with Invite Health
There’s a little change in the description of Invite Health. This was the description that has been used since September:
Welcome to the Invite Health newsletter. These newsletters will contain a roundup of student opportunities related to Canadian healthcare, including jobs, organizations, events, and more! We also highlight and interview students making an impact in Canadian healthcare. 💌
This is the updated one:
Welcome to the Invite Health newsletter. These newsletters highlight students pursuing careers in healthcare, and the experiential learning opportunities they've had. From startups to education to research to politics, my goal with this newsletter is to introduce you to the various pathways that students can pursue in healthcare.
As the description implies, the focus of the newsletters now will be on interviewing students pursuing careers in healthcare and highlighting the opportunities they’ve had. I still plan on posting student opportunities (e.g. jobs, events, etc.), but instead of putting them in separate newsletters, I will be including them at the end of every interview newsletter.
As of today, I’ve interviewed 20 students for Invite Health. I organized all the interviews on a spreadsheet and when you see the breakdown and opportunities featured, it is quite fascinating:
I’ve also created a new feedback form for all of you to share your experiences with Invite Health. If you have any thoughts/worries/wonders/concerns about Invite Health, feel free to share them on the form. My inbox is also always open on LinkedIn and Twitter.
That’s all for today. Thank you for subscribing, supporting, and sharing Invite Health. 😊
